I received a Ph.D. in Ecology and Biodiversity Protection from the Technical University in Zvolen (TUZVO), Slovakia in 2020. After my graduation I worked as a Junior Researcher at TUZVO (2020-2023) and at the Centre for Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Changes & CHANGE (cE3c), University of Lisbon, Portugal (2023-2025). Currently I am working as a Junior Researcher at the Marine and Environmental Sciences Centre (MARE), NOVA University, Portugal.
My research focuses on aquatic insect and their length-mass relationships, live cycles and biomass; plant litter decomposition by macroinvertebrate community and human impact on this process (plant invasion and eutrophication); and ecological risk assessment. In 2025 I was awarded a project by the Horizon call - ERA Postdoctoral Fellowships - called 'Hazards of microplastics to the marine ecosystem: a novel mesocosm approach to evaluate the dynamic and effects of microplastic on marine organisms' health' (acronym PlastHealth). I work in the area of Biological and environmental sciences with emphasis on freshwater biology and in Ecotoxicology and environmental risk assessment with emphasis on microplastics pollution.
